A former rectory in the quiet Carmarthenshire village of Llanedi, this house carries the kind of period character that's easy to appreciate – a grand hallway, chandelier-lit bedrooms, and a log burner in the country kitchen where long meals are all but guaranteed. Outside, a terrace with a hot tub overlooks green valleys, equally good for a lazy afternoon or an evening under the stars. Dogs are welcome, with a dedicated wash-down area by the kitchen ideal for muddy paws. The Gower Peninsula and Carreg Cennen Castle are both within an hour's drive when the mood for adventure strikes.

Home truths
Up to four well-behaved dogs are welcome to join you. Dogs must be kept off the beds and furniture and can't be left at home unattended.
The second bedroom has a single-over-double bunk bed that can sleep up to three people – it may be best suited to children. This room shares a Jack-and-Jill-style bathroom with the main bedroom.
You'll need a car to make the most of your stay here. Llanedi is rural, and most restaurants, shops, and attractions require a short drive – though Pontarddulais train station is nearby for travel to Swansea. There's parking for up to four cars in the driveway.
You'll need to bring your own wood for the log-burning fireplace in the kitchen. The fireplace in the living area is ornamental and not for guest use.
If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair. You'll need to request them in advance.
The fifth bedroom is located on the basement level and is a self-contained space ideal for teenagers.
