A private pool, a rooftop deck with commanding Atlantic views, and a short walk from the beach – this Isle of Palms house is built for a group that wants to do the South Carolina coast properly. The inverted floor plan puts the main living and dining space on the upper level, where the ocean stretches out ahead of you and a marsh-view deck looks back towards the Cooper River Bridge. The centre of Charleston is within easy reach for day trips – but we don't blame you if you prefer to spend the whole day relaxing at home.

The lead guest must be at least 25 years old.
At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.
The driveway accommodates up to five cars, and there's space to park a boat on the premises too – useful if you're planning a day out on the water.
You'll need to climb steps to the front door here. It might not be the best option for those with reduced mobility.
Beach towels and beach gear, including chairs and toys, aren't provided. However, stays of 4 to 28 nights include a $250 beach gear rental credit, which you can use to reserve equipment after booking.
The living, dining, and kitchen areas are all on the upper level while four of the five bedrooms sit below – so meals and socialising mean moving between floors regularly.
The fireplaces are not available for guest use.
