Two neighbouring villas in a gated La Quinta community, this house is built for groups who want the desert at its best. The centrepiece is the pool terrace – loungers, a fire pit for when the temperature drops, and putting green for those who can't quite switch off. Slide open the doors from the main bedroom and you're straight in. The setting is hard to beat – walking distance from the VIP entrance at Empire Polo Fields, with PGA West's championship courses a ten-minute drive away and the Santa Rosa Mountains reachable in just over an hour for anyone after a hike.

Home truths
Due to the location of this home, we recommend hiring a car for ease of getting around.
The small garage unit on the grounds is reserved for housekeeping supplies and is not available to you as a guest. Each of the two guest garages fits five cars, and each driveway takes three compact cars.
If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a travel cot and high chair – just request the high chair at least 24 hours before arrival.
At full occupancy, four guests will sleep on Murphy beds in the media rooms. You'll also need to make use of four rollaway beds here. We think they're best suited to children.
During festivals such as Coachella, road closures can push the walking route to the festival entrance to around 1.4 miles. Your host strongly recommends arranging golf cart services for easier access – ask your concierge to help book this in advance.
