Set on the wetlands of Port Aransas, this house has a tropical yard that earns its keep – a private pool ringed by loungers, a converted boat seating area, and an alfresco kitchen for cooking as the sun goes down. Wrap-around balconies look out over the nature preserve, and the main bedroom opens straight onto one of them. Inside, exposed wood beams give the upstairs living area real character – as do the many kitschy nautical touches dotted around. The whole neighbourhood sits within Port Aransas's golf cart zone, so getting around is a breeze, too.
