Two pool options – one private, one community-sized and heated to 85°F through the cooler months – make this Port Aransas house easy to settle into. The balcony fits six for alfresco dining, and the same sun that rises over the Gulf drops back down in the evening sky, both visible without leaving the living spaces. A barbecue grill sits poolside for low-key cookouts, and boardwalk access keeps the beach within easy reach. Port Aransas Beach itself, with its wide Gulf shoreline, is a fifteen-minute drive when the surf calls.

Home truths
You'll be navigating two flights of stairs to move between living areas and bedrooms – there's no lift. From the ground-floor garage and entry, one staircase leads up to the kitchen and living room, and a second continues to the third floor where all the bedrooms are.
Bedroom three has a single-over-double bunk bed plus an additional pull-out double bed, sleeping up to five people in total. We think this room works best for children.
The wi-fi can be temperamental here. It might be worth bringing a personal hotspot device with you if you know you'll need to access the internet.
