A private terrace is a rare find in central Kensington, and this apartment makes the most of it – shaded, secluded, and perfect for an alfresco nightcap on a summer evening. Light pours into the calm living room, making it an easy place to settle in for longer than planned. Pets are welcome, and the sofa bed adds a little extra flexibility for groups or families. Kensington Palace is about a thirty-minute walk when you're ready to explore, while Kensington Olympia is right down the street for events and transport links. Notting Hill's Portobello Road Market and Hyde Park are within reach too, keeping the best of West London close at hand.

Home truths
At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.
As this is at garden level, you'll have to climb stairs to reach the entrance.
Kensington sits to the west of central London, so some of the city's most-visited attractions will involve a Tube ride or two.
This is a garden-level apartment in an older building, so it can feel cool underfoot – particularly in cooler months. Bringing warm socks or slippers is a good idea.
If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a travel cot upon request.
While we love the patio, we think it could do with a bit of a refresh – particularly the tiling, which is looking a little tired and would benefit from a good pressure wash.

About Kensington
Affluent and incredibly central, Kensington is a great base for exploring London on foot. Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park are on your doorstep and so are the Victoria and Albert, Science, and Natural History Museums. The streets are attractive and well maintained (grand, white stucco facades aplenty) and your neighbours will be a wealthy, conservative set. Lots of positives but probably not the place to let your hair down.
