Built on timber stilts directly over Loch Tay, this boathouse offers something genuinely rare – a hot tub suspended above open water, with uninterrupted views of the loch and surrounding hills from every vantage point. Inside, a wood-burning stove anchors the living space, making it as cosy in the evenings as the deck is compelling by day. Designed for two, and set in real seclusion, it's the kind of place where the water feels close enough to touch – because, from the deck, it very nearly is.

Home truths
This home has a studio layout, so there's no separation between the sleeping and living areas. It works beautifully for a couple seeking total immersion in the surroundings, but worth bearing in mind if you prefer distinct spaces.
This is a genuinely remote Highland retreat – you'll need a car to reach local shops, restaurants, and amenities. Access is via a farm track leading to the loch which may not be suitable for vehicles with low ground clearance.
The boathouse sits over the water on timber stilts, so expect the sounds and movement of the loch around you day and night – most guests find it atmospheric, but it's worth knowing if you're a particularly light sleeper.
If you're travelling with a little one, your host can provide a high chair. Ask in advance to make sure it's ready on arrival.
The wi-fi here is suitable for general browsing but not high-bandwidth streaming. Consider bringing a personal hotspot if you'll need reliable internet.
