Few Hamptons houses balance sheer scale with a sense of ease quite like this one. The heated saltwater pool sits at the heart of an expansive garden, with plenty of lawn to roam and a terrace for long alfresco dinners as the sun goes down. Inside, three living spaces, a chef's kitchen, and a small study have room for everyone. Southampton Village's boutiques and restaurants are five minutes away by car, and Flying Point and Towd Point beaches are reachable in under ten minutes – making this a strong base whether the plan is rest or exploration.

Home truths

  • One of the bedrooms has a double-over-double bunk bed that can sleep up to four people – we think it might be best suited to children.

  • The heated saltwater pool is seasonal – you'll be able to swim from 15th May to 11th October, with heating available from Memorial Day through the first weekend of October.

  • The villa is set in a quiet residential area, so you'll want a car to make the most of the Hamptons – Southampton Village is a five-minute drive and the nearest beaches are under ten minutes away.

  • If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide two cots, a high chair, and a changing table. It's worth requesting these in advance to make sure everything is set up on arrival.

  • While this home can accommodate eighteen additional guests on the sofa bed, the maximum occupancy is fourteen guests.
