Built in the 1890s, this Baronial mansion delivers the perfect Scottish escape. Set within nine acres of manicured lawns and woodland there's plenty of space to roam – plus there's croquet and badminton if you're feeling active. The interiors are a wonderful nod to a bygone era with art, antique furnishings and some four-poster beds. That's not to say that it's not cosy, however, there are plenty of comfy living spaces, and a well-equipped kitchen too. Entertainment-wise you are spoiled for choice – there's a pool table, a darts board, a music room, and a TV room. There's even a bar for after-dinner drinks. Alternatively, it's a short walk to Alness where you will find a handful of pubs.

About Inverness

With Loch Ness right next door, empty Glens dotting the countryside and the Speyside whisky region just down the road, folk tend to use Inverness as a base for exploring the untamed Scottish Highlands. But lingering a while in this small city has its rewards. Strolling between the willow trees on the banks of the River Ness and catching a glimpse of Inverness Castle is just one of those rewards....

Host

This home is managed by Oliver

This home is managed by a business on behalf of its owner. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Nearly twenty years ago, Oliver and his friend began curating the world's most unique and rustic getaways. Driven by their own unforgettable experience at a chateau, they have grown remarkably since then. Much like Plum, they believe in hand-picked luxury that doesn't break the bank.

This home is nominated for the Plum Guide Award.
