A Georgian country house set in ten acres of gardens and woodland, just over an hour from London – not a bad escape, especially given how private it feels. The grounds are a big part of the draw. There’s a heated pool, tennis court, fire pit and space to wander, plus bikes and a pétanque court if you’re feeling more active. The gardens were designed by a Chelsea Flower Show landscaper and you can walk straight to the Devil’s Punch Bowl from here. There’s also a pool house set up for easy days outside, so you won’t need to keep heading back in. Inside, the glass-wrapped orangery overlooking the garden is likely to become a regular spot.

Extending for around 260 square miles across East Sussex, West Sussex and Hampshire, they’re a range of chalky hills widely considered to be one of England’s most attractive landscapes. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1966, it’s since been awarded National Park status. Stretching from Winchester to Eastbourne, there are charming English towns and villages...

Host

This home is managed by Oliver

This home is managed by a business on behalf of its owner. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Nearly twenty years ago, Oliver and his friend began curating the world's most unique and rustic getaways. Driven by their own unforgettable experience at a chateau, they have grown remarkably since then. Much like Plum, they believe in hand-picked luxury that doesn't break the bank.

This home is nominated for the Plum Guide Award.
