This Edwardian villa in the heart of Southsea is less than a five-minute walk from the beach and ten minutes on foot to Southsea Green and Canoe Lake. Inside, the scale is built for groups – a kitchen diner that seats the whole party, a walled dining terrace for alfresco evenings, and a cinema room for winding down after a day on the coast. One bedroom has a freestanding bathtub alongside its en-suite, adding a touch of indulgence. If adventure calls, the Southsea Hoverport is a five-minute drive away – Isle of Wight day trips start from there.

Home truths
While two of the bedrooms and nine of the bathrooms aren't photographed, expect the style and quality to be consistent with the rest of the home.
The en-suite bath tub is integrated into the bedroom so privacy is limited. This room also has a separate en-suite toilet.
This home is spread across four levels so you'll be moving between floors a lot during your stay.
If you're travelling with a baby or toddler, your host can provide a travel cot and high chair on request.
Private parking is available for up to six cars – if your group is arriving in more vehicles than that, you'll need to find additional street or public parking nearby.
The home sits in a residential area, so the outdoor spaces are best enjoyed at a reasonable volume – outside parties, loud music, and fireworks are not permitted, and stag dos cannot be accommodated here.

About Portsmouth
Forget what you think you know about the navy – a maritime masterclass waits for you in Pompey. One of the UK’s oldest seaside destinations (and the country’s only island city), Portsmouth was once the world’s greatest naval port. So, unsurprisingly, the big draw here is the nautical history. The city’s armada lies at the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard – HMS Victory (1759-1765), HMS Warrior (1860) and the Mary Rose (Henry...

Host
This home is managed by Oliver
This home is managed by a business on behalf of its owner. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Nearly twenty years ago, Oliver and his friend began curating the world's most unique and rustic getaways. Driven by their own unforgettable experience at a chateau, they have grown remarkably since then. Much like Plum, they believe in hand-picked luxury that doesn't break the bank.
This home is nominated for the Plum Guide Award.
