Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
Tucked into the Sant'Ambrogio neighbourhood on one of the area's liveliest streets, this apartment puts the best of Florence within easy reach – Piazza della Signoria is eleven minutes on foot, the Florence Cathedral seventeen, and Ponte Vecchio around sixteen. Back inside, double-height ceilings and stone details give the living room a distinctly Florentine character, while a separate dining area is well suited to leisurely evenings in. The Florence Synagogue is a four-minute walk, the local market even closer – so whether you're after culture or a morning browse for fresh produce, the neighbourhood delivers both.

Home truths
The apartment is on the second floor with twenty-eight steps and no lift – worth bearing in mind if you have mobility concerns or are travelling with heavy luggage.
Air conditioning is only available in one bedroom and the living room – the second bedroom doesn't have a unit, though the thick historic walls do help keep it cooler naturally.
The bedroom overlooking the inner courtyard can pick up noise from neighbouring flats, particularly at night – if you're a light sleeper, you may want to request the street-facing room.
Taxis can't pull up directly outside – they'll drop you off and pick you up on a nearby street, so factor in a short walk with your bags.
This host collects tourist tax separately from your booking payment. 7 days before check-in, your host will send you a link to pay the tax.

About Santa Croce
Santa Croce is a trendy, architecturally impressive neighbourhood that’s less busy than the Duomo or San Marco districts, but still in the heart of Florence. Home to the eponymous basilica, and the Casa Buonarroti museum, it’s located in the eastern part of Florence’s historic centre. The largest crowds have thinned out by this point, but if you stay here, you're still close enough to explore the whole city on foot....
