Sitting on Via Calimaruzza, this apartment puts you at the centre of Florence in the most literal sense – Piazza della Signoria is a one-minute walk, the Uffizi three minutes, and Ponte Vecchio five. The building itself is a historic one, and the interior leans into that: exposed wooden beams run across the mezzanine bedroom, while a glass staircase connects the living room below to the sleeping space above, giving the apartment a distinct character without sacrificing comfort. Artisan shops, cafes, and restaurants fill the surrounding streets, and Santa Maria Novella station is a ten-minute walk for day trips into Tuscany.

Home truths
The apartment sits on the second floor of a building with no lift – worth planning ahead if you're travelling with heavy or bulky luggage.
The mezzanine bedroom has a lower ceiling height and exposed beams that mean you can't stand upright in parts of the space – it's cosy and characterful, but worth bearing in mind if you're tall or need full headroom.
Air conditioning is only available in both bedrooms.
You're right in the beating heart of Florence, so some ambient noise comes with the territory – particularly in the evenings. The mezzanine bedroom also catches the early-morning setup of a nearby market from around 5am, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
