Sitting directly over the Russian River, this house is built around the water in a way that's hard to overstate. The deck puts you above the current with dining and lounge furniture, and a private dock means the two kayaks are yours whenever the mood strikes. A year-round hot tub looks out over the same stretch of river, while floor-to-ceiling windows keep the views front and centre indoors too. When you want to venture out, Healdsburg Plaza – with its restaurants and wine tasting rooms – is less than 1.5 miles away.

Home truths
At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the main bedroom. This room also has a superking bed that sleeps two.
You can have up to three vehicles on site, so if you're arriving as a larger group, additional cars will need to park on the street.
If you're travelling with a baby or toddler, your host can provide a travel cot and high chair.
The washer and dryer are only available if you're staying three or more nights – if you're here for a shorter trip, plan to pack accordingly.
The kayaks are seasonal and you'll carry them to and from the dock yourself, so bear that in mind when planning water activities.
You'll enjoy complimentary tastings at select Sonoma County wineries, with six guests included per winery (four at MacRostie). Additional guests are welcome for the vineyard's standard tasting fee.
The lead guest must be at least 25 years old, and your host may ask to see a government-issued ID to confirm.
