Tucked into a canopy of woodland outside Sebastopol, this house earns its place in wine country. Ancient oaks shade a large deck furnished with lounge seating and hammocks, while a wood-fired grill, pizza oven, fire pit, and hot tub fill out the garden – enough to keep you outdoors well into the evening. The kitchen looks out across the trees, and the vaulted living room is made for unwinding when the light fades. Home truths
The bathtub in the main suite is currently out of service – you'll need to use the combined bath and shower in the hallway bathroom instead.
If you're travelling with a little one, your host can provide a high chair and cot for your stay – worth requesting in advance.
You'll need a car to make the most of this stay – the villa is tucked into the rolling hills outside Sebastopol, and nearby wineries, trails, and Bodega Bay are all best reached by driving. Parking is provided.
You'll enjoy complimentary tastings at select Sonoma County wineries, with six guests included per winery (four at MacRostie). Additional guests are welcome for the vineyard's standard tasting fee.
The lead guest must be at least 25 years old, and your host may ask to see a government-issued ID to confirm.
