A candlelit hot tub just a short walk from Piazza Navona is hard to resist, and this apartment delivers exactly that. The mezzanine sleeping area overlooking the loft-style living space adds architectural character, although the ceilings are on the lower side. The real highlight, however, is the hot tub – just what you'll want after a day of sightseeing. And in this location, you'll have plenty to explore. Campo de' Fiori's lively daily market is just a five-minute walk away, while the Pantheon's ancient dome is within easy reach. It's a rare base where the wonders of ancient Rome and the rhythms of everyday life feel equally close at hand.

Home truths

  • The layout is a little unconventional. You'll enter on the ground floor, where you'll find the hot tub. The first floor has two bedrooms (one en-suite), a bathroom, and an open-plan living area with a sofa bed and kitchen. The third bedroom is on a mezzanine above the living space, creating a multi-level layout that takes some getting used to.

  • At full occupancy, one guest will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.

  • If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot. You'll need to request it in advance.

  • Given the home's central spot, expect to hear some street noise throughout your stay.

  • The third bedroom is on the mezzanine level and semi-open to the space below, so privacy is limited.

About Navona

Stretching from Piazza Navona to the river, the area is one of the most atmospheric in the city. The Piazza, with its Bernini statues and Borromini church, is the main draw, but there are any number of golden palazzos, many with inner courtyards to explore. The area is sliced in two by Corso Vittorio Emmanuele, one of Rome's most frenetic roads, but you can dive down the nearest sides street...
