Staying in a 17th-century Florentine chapel – one that retains its elegant arches and was once partly a crypt – is a different experience from any standard city-centre apartment. The intimate, vaulted atmosphere makes evenings in feel as memorable as days out, and the kitchen-diner is a natural place to gather after a long afternoon of sightseeing. That sightseeing, for the record, is exceptional from here: the Basilica di Santa Croce is a six-minute walk, Piazza della Signoria seven-minutes, and Ponte Vecchio an eleven-minute stroll along the Arno.
