Perched at 650 m above sea level in a traditional mountain village on southern Samos, this stone villa trades beach crowds for wide Aegean views, cool mountain air, and the kind of quiet that's hard to find. A small lookout platform at the top of the house makes sunset watching a ritual. Each bedroom has its own private terrace and a heated plunge-pool jacuzzi fed by fresh spring water, so there's real seclusion built into the design. A dedicated pool terrace, a dining terrace with an iroko wood table, and a separate breakfast spot mean alfresco life is well catered for – and hiking paths start right in the village.

Home truths
The village lanes are too narrow for cars to reach the entrance, so your parking space is a short walk from the front door. We recommend hiring a car for the stay – it's the most practical way to reach beaches, shops, and other villages on the island.
Spatharei is a living village, not a resort – you'll hear church bells and cross paths with neighbours in the alleys as part of daily life here.
If you're travelling with young children, note that the pool areas are unfenced and the home has multiple elevated terraces and exterior staircases – supervision is essential at all times.
If you're travelling with a baby or toddler, your host can provide a cot.
The bedrooms don't have blackout curtains, so early summer light will wake you at dawn. If you're a light sleeper or like a lie-in, consider bringing an eye mask.
