Few apartments can claim an address like this. Overlooking Piazza del Campo in the heart of Siena, this top-floor penthouse gives you a bird's-eye view of Europe's great medieval squares. The living room windows frame the piazza in full, so you can watch the square shift from afternoon gold to the soft glow of evening without leaving the sofa. Panoramas aside, the interiors are a mix of historic charm and contemporary design. Three en-suite bedrooms give everyone their own space to retreat to after a day of exploring – and with Siena’s sights, sounds, and landmarks right on your doorstep, there will be plenty of adventures on the cards.

Home truths
Given the home's central spot, expect to hear some street noise throughout your stay – particularly during the famous Palio di Siena horse race.
There's no lift here. You'll need to be able to climb stairs to reach the entrance of the home on the top floor. It won't suit those with limited mobility.
This apartment sits within Siena's Limited Traffic Zone, so you cannot drive to the door. You'll need to park at one of the public car parks just outside the city walls and walk in – and you'll be doing a lot of walking to get around the town.
Siena's historic centre is entirely pedestrianised, with hilly streets and traditional stone paving – comfortable walking shoes are worth packing, especially if you're covering a lot of ground on foot.
