Overlooking the village of Vothonas, this home invites you to explore one of Santorini's most traditional villages, where tavernas serve up local cuisine and the landscape is shaped by volcanic history. In fact, this villa is a perfect example of a traditional hyposkafa, a Greek cave home built into the volcanic rock – so what it lacks in space it makes up for in unique ambience. Soak up the sun on the private terrace, complete with a plunge pool, and savour meals at the alfresco dining table. This is a great vantage point for exploring the island, too – Fira is less than twenty minutes away.

Home truths

  • At full occupancy, one guest will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area. We'd recommend this bed for children only.

  • Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay – there's parking available on the premises.

  • This home is on the same site as three other villas, but there are no shared spaces.

  • Daily housekeeping is included here.

  • There's limited counter space in the kitchen. We think it's better suited to prepping lighter bites than large meals.

About Santorini

There’s so little rain on Santorini that the island’s multiple vineyards are kept watered by overnight sea mist. This striking, volcanic island twists around the crater of an old caldera and the main towns of Fira and Oia are perched high above the azure water. The cafés and restaurants that line Fira’s frontage all boast caldera views, and boat tours run from the old harbour below. Rumour has it that...
