A former 15th-century sacristy in the heart of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, this house carries real history – the main bedroom's ancient vaulted ceilings, once part of a convent, are unlike any room you'll find in a standard rental. Outside, a courtyard framed by old stone walls fills with wisteria overhead, making it a natural spot for long alfresco evenings with a plancha on hand. The Sorgue River canals thread through the town just steps away, and Fontaine de Vaucluse – Europe's most powerful natural spring – is around forty-one minutes on foot.
