Set near the shores of the volcanic Lake Bracciano this dreamy retreat has all the right ingredients for a fun holiday, whether you're travelling with friends or family. The contemporary interiors are bright and sunny with lots of space, and lake or garden views from every room. We imagine you'll probably spend most of your time outside, however. In addition to the swimming pool and lush garden, there's a delightful shaded living area where you can happily while away the hours reading a book. If you do feel like exploring then you're not far from the Orsini-Odescalchi Castle and Rome is an easy drive away.

About Valle Aurelia
Valle Aurelia is directly behind the Vatican, but you’d never guess from the number of tourists. Perhaps the nickname, Valle dell’Inferno (Valley of Hell) is enough to put them off. Rest assured though, it’s not a comment on the place, rather a reference to the presence of enormous furnaces in the area, which were in use up until the 1920s. It was the heart of metalworking, clay firing and brickmaking in Rome for centuries, and this instilled a vibrant working-class character to the neighbourhood, which endures today.
