Tucked beneath a thatched roof in the golden-stone village of Broad Campden, this cottage is the Cotswolds distilled into one picture-perfect package. Inside, original timber beams and a stone alcove sit alongside contemporary interiors, while a garden room with bi-fold doors opens onto a sun-chasing garden complete with a terrace, a lawn, and an idyllic corner beside a historic well. Chipping Campden, Broadway, and a village pub are all within easy reach – but with this much charm on the doorstep, you may not want to leave.

Home truths

  • The third bedroom sits on the second floor beneath the thatch and can be made up as either a king or twin – let your host know your preference before you arrive.

  • Your host can provide a cot and high chair for little ones upon request – just bring your own cot linen.

  • Broad Campden is a small rural village, so you'll want a car to reach shops, restaurants, and nearby towns such as Chipping Campden.

  • This cottage is spread across three floors, with all bedrooms located upstairs. You'll need to use the internal staircases frequently, so it may not suit guests with reduced mobility.

  • There's a small lip in the doorway to the first bedroom, and head height is limited in some second-floor doorways, so taller guests may need to mind their heads.

  • You'll find a covered well next to the seating area. While it's protected by a metal grate, children and pets should be supervised.

About The Cotswolds

Think of an idyllic English countryside scene – rolling hills, honey-coloured cottages, thatched pubs – and chances are, you’re imagining the Cotswolds. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1966, this bucolic region that stretches across six counties – including Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire – is known for its whimsy and treacly pace of life. A walker’s paradise crisscrossed by the 102-mile Cotswold Way, rambling here is to step in...
