For an afternoon of culture, the Uffizi Gallery and the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore are a short walk away, while an endless selection of restaurants is on the doorstep once sightseeing has worked up an appetite. The home itself is comfortable and well-appointed, with an open-plan living space for easy socialising. It’s worth noting, however, that at full occupancy two guests will sleep on the sofa bed here.

Santa Croce is a trendy, architecturally impressive neighbourhood that’s less busy than the Duomo or San Marco districts, but still in the heart of Florence. Home to the eponymous basilica, and the Casa Buonarroti museum, it’s located in the eastern part of Florence’s historic centre.
