Built in 1912 for a wealthy plantation family, this hillside villa near Weligama carries more than a century of colonial heritage in its bones – vaulted ceilings, louvred shutters, draped canopy beds, and antique-filled rooms that feel like they've earned their character. Two acres of tropical garden surround an oversized saltwater pool and a sunken conversation pit, while a dining pavilion seats up to twenty alfresco, with an in-house chef on hand to make long evenings worth lingering over. Mirissa Beach and its famous whale-watching crescent are nearby, as are the coral gardens of Polhena Reef.
