A cedar-and-concrete house on a quiet South Austin street, this four-bedroom home earns its keep through strong design and an even stronger postcode. The living space opens to the kitchen at the back and spills out to a turfed courtyard where string lights and a sail shade make it easy to stay outside long after the sun dips. The main suite has direct access to that outdoor space, while a bunk room handles the overflow. South First Street's tacos and dive bars are a few blocks away, Lady Bird Lake and Zilker Park are minutes out, and downtown is just across the river.

The two queen bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom between them – worth factoring in if you're booking for two separate couples or guests who prefer their own bathroom access.
Downtown Austin is just across the river, so you'll have easy access to the city centre while still being able to unwind in the quieter Bouldin Creek neighbourhood.
