A handsome log cabin in the Berkshires countryside, this house earns its keep on a crisp evening when the wood-burning fireplace is lit and the vaulted living room frames nothing but open sky through its wide windows. Come morning, rolling green hills stretch across the horizon from the elevated deck – a strong argument for lingering over breakfast rather than making plans. The driveway is steep and can be challenging to navigate, particularly in wet or wintry conditions – you'll need an all-wheel drive or a four-wheel drive vehicle to get here safely.
