Perched on the shores of Lake Garfield in the Berkshires, this house earns its place the moment you step onto the deck – warm lights overhead, the lake stretching out below, and a hot tub waiting with views of the treeline. Inside, vaulted ceilings and a wall of windows frame the double-height living room, and a lower-floor games room and a sauna means there's never a shortage of ways to unwind. The nearby town of Monterey is a small, but picturesque, Berkshire town – the perfect location for a country escape.

Home truths
The lead guest must be at least 25 years old.
The driveway is paved but steep, and only suitable for four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive vehicles – particularly important to bear in mind if you're visiting in winter when conditions can be icy. There are around six parking spaces in total – two on the driveway and additional spots on the other side of the road.
The dock is only in the water during spring and summer – if you're visiting in autumn or winter, you won't be able to use it.
You're in a rural Berkshires setting, so you can expect to encounter wildlife, insects, and bugs during your stay – especially in the warmer months.
If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair at no additional cost. You'll need to request them in advance.
At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the games room, and you'll need to make use of two rollaway beds, which are are best suited to children.
