Perched high on an Asheville mountainside, this house earns its views – a timber wrap-around deck looks out over forested valleys and mountain ridges that shift with the seasons. Inside, a wood-burning fireplace anchors the living space, and the game room – vintage Pac-Man arcade, mini basketball shootout, cornhole – gives rainy days their own appeal. You'll need a 4x4 or AWD vehicle to reach this home – the driveway is steep and gravel, so a standard two-wheel-drive car won't make it. There are four parking spaces available once you arrive.
At full occupancy, you'll need to make use of one rollaway bed here. We think it's best suited to children.
If you're travelling with little ones, your host can arrange a high chair and travel cot – just give at least 24 hours' notice when requesting them.
The barbecue runs on both propane and charcoal, but only the propane supply is replenished by your host – charcoal isn't provided, so bring your own if you plan to use it.
