Draped in wisteria and tucked on the edge of a quiet Oxfordshire village, this cottage earns its peaceful reputation the moment you step outside. The private garden opens onto rolling countryside views, and a gate leads through to an adjoining orchard – somewhere to wander on a slow morning. Inside, exposed beams and an inglenook stone fireplace make cooler evenings easy to fill, while built-in window seats frame the garden and the fields beyond. Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, and the Cotswolds are all within reach when you're ready to explore.

Home truths
The twin beds in the second bedroom can be configured as a king-size bed – ask your host in advance if you'd prefer that setup.
There are a few steps up to the entrance, so it's worth bearing in mind if anyone in your group has mobility considerations.
You'll have two dedicated parking spaces at the front of the cottage. Claydon is a rural village and you'll want a car to reach pubs, restaurants, and supermarkets – the nearest options are a short drive away in Cropredy or Banbury.
Your host can provide a cot and high chair for little ones upon request – just bring your own cot linen.
