Sitting on more than two acres of grounds beside Swan Lake, this cottage on Whidbey Island offers an unhurried kind of retreat. The deck looks out toward Puget Sound, with the Olympic Mountains on the horizon – a view that makes slow mornings feel effortless. Joseph Whidbey State Park and Beach are steps away for coastal walks when you're ready to move. Back at the cottage, evenings have a natural rhythm – alfresco dining as the sun drops over the lake, then gathering around the fire pit as the stars appear.

Whidbey Island sits alongside a naval air base, so on a few weekdays each month – and occasionally in the evenings – you may hear loud flight training overhead. The Navy doesn't typically schedule training on weekends or holidays, and usually publishes its schedule a week in advance.
For those with reduced mobility, there's a ground floor bedroom and bathroom here.
One of the bedrooms has a single-over-double bunk bed that can sleep up to three people – we think it might be best suited to children.
The lead guest must be at least 21 years old.
