Set against open pastures on Whidbey Island, this farmhouse has the kind of unhurried feel that makes a long stay restorative. Apple trees dot the grounds, and the outdoor sofa and barbecue face out over the fields — evenings stretch further with a fire pit and outdoor fireplace when the island air cools. Inside, two living areas give larger groups room to breathe, one anchored by a piano. Double Bluff beach is a seven-minute drive, and downtown Langley is close by for whenever you want a change of pace.

At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.
There's no air conditioning here, so if you're visiting in summer, plan accordingly – open windows and the surrounding farmland help, but warm spells can be noticeable indoors.
Two bathrooms are shared between up to twelve guests, so mornings may require a little coordination across the group.
You'll need a car to make the most of your stay – the beach is a seven-minute drive, and shops, restaurants, and local attractions all require getting behind the wheel. Parking is available on the driveway.
Whidbey Island is home to a naval air base, so on a few weekdays each month – and occasionally in the evenings – you may hear loud flight training overhead. The Navy typically publishes the schedule a week in advance, and training doesn't take place on weekends or public holidays.
