Tucked among the evergreens on Whidbey Island, this 1960s bungalow wears its vintage bones well – warm and lived-in, with enough to make a long stay easy. The decks are where you'll spend most of your time, whether soaking in the hot tub under the pines, dining alfresco, or swaying in the hammock overlooking the backyard. A separate rustic cabin a few steps away adds a glamping-style sleeping loft for two guests. The community beach, fire pit, and wharf are a five-minute walk, and Fort Casey State Park is a ten-minute drive.

Home truths
At full capacity, two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the cabin. It's accessed from the exterior only and has no bathroom, so cabin guests will need to come into the main house to use the facilities. It's best suited to independent guests who don't mind a more rustic setup.
Whidbey Island is home to a naval air base, so you may hear loud jet noise on some weekday mornings and occasionally in the evening. Training doesn't take place on weekends or holidays, and the schedule is usually published a week in advance if you'd like to plan around it.
You're 7 miles south of Coupeville town, so you'll want a car to reach shops, restaurants, and most of the island's attractions with ease. Plenty of parking is provided.
