Tucked into the pines of Incline Village, this house earns its mountain credentials from the moment you step inside – soaring ceilings, custom woodwork, and a fireplace in the main living room make for warm evenings after a day on the slopes. Come morning, floor-to-ceiling glass doors frame the forest from the bedroom, and over 1,000 sq ft of patio with a hot tub and views of Diamond Peak makes it easy to linger outside. Diamond Peak, Mt. Rose, and Northstar are all minutes away, with Lake Tahoe's shores close by – a serious base for a group with ambitions.

Local guide
About Incline Village
On the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is one of the largest bodies of water in the US. As you'd expect, it's an area of astounding beauty, but the lake has also made a name for itself as a centre for both winter sports and water sports, as well as hiking and cycling. The north shore is a bit quieter and more relaxed than the south. While there's still plenty to do (including the annual food and wine festival), you're unlikely to see crowds like you do in other parts of the region.
