An A-frame cabin on the edge of the Tahoe Reserve, this house backs directly onto forest with a trail starting right behind the deck – so a morning walk through the trees is as simple as stepping outside. The wood-lined interior draws in natural light, while the back deck offers complete privacy with no neighbours behind you. And if you're thinking of working, the desk is a welcome addition (though you might be distracted by the views). Half a mile from the lake, you're within walking distance of Kings Beach's restaurants and bars, and come winter, Palisades Tahoe and Northstar are easily reachable for skiing.

About Tahoe Vista
On the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is one of the largest bodies of water in the US. As you'd expect, it's an area of astounding beauty, but the lake has also made a name for itself as a centre for both winter sports and water sports, as well as hiking and cycling.
