Set on 25 acres in Old Snowmass, with downtown Aspen a twenty-minute drive away, this ranch house sits along the banks of two creeks and earns its place in the Rockies. Winter brings the grounds to life – snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and tubing are all on the doorstep, and at dawn you stand a chance of watching elk cross the land. A covered pavilion with an outdoor fireplace makes evenings outside easy well into the colder months, while younger guests have a playhouse and teepee to claim as their own. It's the kind of retreat where the outdoors does most of the work.

Home truths
Due to the location of this home, we recommend hiring a car for ease of getting around. Parking for six cars is available on the premises.
In winter, ice can build up on the driveway and make it slippery underfoot and for vehicles. Take care when arriving or departing in cold weather.
Due to wildfire risk in the area, all outdoor wood-burning fires, campfires, and charcoal grills are strictly prohibited.
The ranch is genuine wilderness, and encounters with local wildlife are a real possibility on the grounds.
Although there's a private lake on the grounds, swimming in it is not permitted.
One of the bedrooms contains a single over king size double bunk bed.
The lead guest must be at least 25 years old.
