Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
Perched right on the Truckee River, this cedar cabin delivers one of those rare settings where the outdoors does most of the talking – a fire pit on the deck, a hot tub with forested peaks stretching ahead, and the river running past at every turn. Inside, warm timber ceilings and a fireplace-anchored living room make it easy to linger long after a day on the slopes. Palisades Tahoe is a ten-minute drive, Downtown Truckee's restaurants and shops are just as close, and a cedar-lined sauna is waiting when you get back.

Home truths
You'll need a car to get around – the driveway fits three to four vehicles.
The two loft-style bedrooms – the main bedroom and the second bedroom – don't have doors, so sound travels more freely between those sleeping areas. Worth keeping in mind if your group includes light sleepers or mixed bedtimes.
The outdoor deck, barbecue, and hot tub are seasonal amenities, available from late May to early September.
At full occupancy, you'll need to make use of two rollaway beds here. We think they're best suited to children.

Local guide
About Truckee
On the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is one of the largest bodies of water in the US. As you'd expect, it's an area of astounding beauty, but the lake has also made a name for itself as a centre for both winter sports and water sports, as well as hiking and cycling. The north shore is a bit quieter and more relaxed than the south. While there's still plenty to do (including the annual food and wine festival), you're unlikely to see crowds like you do in other parts of the region.
