Sitting right on the shores of Lake Norman, this house is built around the water in the most literal sense – from the saltwater pool with its tanning ledge to the private dock kitted out for kayaking, wakeboarding, and lazy afternoon swims. Five kayaks, a paddleboard, and a kayak launch system are included, so there's no packing required. Inside, vaulted ceilings and panoramic lake views carry across the main living level, and the covered deck off the living room makes it easy to linger well into the evening around the fire pit.

Home truths
The main entertaining and sleeping areas are split across two floors, so you'll find yourself moving between levels regularly – especially as the lower-level kitchenette and outdoor dining tables are separate from the main kitchen and dining room upstairs.
Bedroom three has two single-over-double bunk beds that can sleep a total of six people – we think this room works best for children.
Water depth at the dock can vary due to natural lake fluctuations, so if you're planning to bring your own boat, we recommend consulting Lake Norman nautical charts and depth maps to ensure it's suitable for your vessel.
There's free parking for up to five cars.
