This pine-flanked cabin in Truckee sets a high bar for mountain living. Step outside and the private deck delivers hushed forest views from every angle, with a hot tub ready for post-slope recovery. Tahoe Donner Ski Resort is a five-minute drive, Donner Lake a ten-minute trip in summer, and the breweries and boutiques of Downtown Truckee are less than twenty minutes away – so whether you're here for snow or sun, the base couldn't be better.

About Truckee
On the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is one of the largest bodies of water in the US. As you'd expect, it's an area of astounding beauty, but the lake has also made a name for itself as a centre for both winter sports and water sports, as well as hiking and cycling. The north shore is a bit quieter and more relaxed than the south. While there's still plenty to do (including the annual food and wine festival), you're unlikely to see crowds like you do in other parts of the region.
