Home truths
Your host operates several homes here, so the exact view, layout and furnishings might differ slightly from the photos. However, the overall quality should remain the same.
Pets are not permitted at this home.
You can park up to two or three cars in the driveway, but the garage is not available for guests and street parking is not allowed. If your group is arriving in more than three vehicles, it's worth coordinating car-sharing in advance.
The outdoor furniture, hot tub, and deck amenities are seasonal – available from Memorial Day through Labor Day. If you're visiting outside that window, plan accordingly.
The barbecue is not available for guest use, so if alfresco cooking is part of your plan you'll want to look into other options or ask your host about alternatives.

Local guide
About Carnelian Bay
On the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is one of the largest bodies of water in the US. As you'd expect, it's an area of astounding beauty, but the lake has also made a name for itself as a centre for both winter sports and water sports, as well as hiking and cycling. The north shore is a bit quieter and more relaxed than the south. While there's still plenty to do (including the annual food and wine festival), you're unlikely to see crowds like you do in other parts of the region.
