Honey-stone cottages don't come much more Cotswolds than this. You'll find it in the heart of Adderbury village, with exposed beams, an inglenook fireplace, and a garden room that opens onto a sheltered stone terrace. Inside, the sitting room with its wood-burning stove is made for slow evenings, while the kitchen's electric Aga will please home chefs. Four pubs, a village shop, and a coffee shop are all within walking distance, and Blenheim Palace is an easy day trip from the door.

Home truths

  • The Aga is switched off during the summer months, with a portable two-ring ceramic hob available instead.

  • The rear garden has different levels connected by stone steps, so it may not suit guests with limited mobility. If you're travelling with young children, note that supervision is recommended at all times in the garden.

  • If you're travelling with a baby, your host can provide a travel cot and high chair on request. You'll need to bring your own cot linen.

  • Adderbury is a village, so you'll want a car if you're planning excursions to Oxford, the Cotswolds, or further afield. On-street parking is available directly outside the cottage.

  • A shared access gate at the front of the cottage leads to the back garden.
