A light-filled apartment in the heart of Whitechapel, with living and sleeping areas spread across two floors so the cooking, dining, and unwinding all happen in one generous shared space – and the bedrooms feel properly separate from it. The location does the rest: Whitechapel Station and Aldgate East are both within a ten-minute walk, and Brick Lane, Spitalfields Market, and Tower Bridge are all reachable on foot in around twenty minutes.

Home truths

  • There's no lift here. You'll need to be able to climb two flights of stairs to reach the entrance of the home, and there are stairs inside the apartment too. It might not be the best option for those with reduced mobility.

  • Your host can provide a cot for little ones upon request – just bring your own mattress and cot linen.

  • There's no air conditioning here. In warmer months you'll find fans in every room, and opening the windows in the evening helps keep things cool.

  • Parking here can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to easily accessible public transport where possible.

About Wapping

Undoubtedly one of London's most atmospheric riverside areas, packed with maritime history and still retaining a real Dickensian feel to many parts of it on account of its many cobbled streets. The old wharfs and spice and tea warehouses that the area is filled with have almost all now been snapped up and converted by hip media types, wanting to live the NY-style loft dream. The area is also well-known for its many historic riverside pubs, gloriously cosy in wintertime and good for sun soaking come summertime.
