Dine beneath exposed timber beams with Tuscan hillside views rolling out before you – it's the kind of scene that makes you linger over breakfast. This loft apartment sits within a historic Florentine villa complex, and the antique wooden furnishings and terracotta-tiled ceilings give it a warmth that feels authentically Tuscan. The on-site parking is a rare find in Florence, and means that you can forego the local buses and drive just minutes to the centre of the city – how about an afternoon at the Uffizi?

Home truths

  • The apartment is on the first floor with no lift, so it may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility. There are also a couple of steps in the bathroom.

  • At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area. Please note that the only bathroom here is an en-suite off the main bedroom, so at full occupancy, privacy may be limited.

  • Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay. There's free parking on the premises.

  • The washing machine is shared with other apartments in the building rather than being private to this home, so plan laundry around that.

  • The two single beds in the sleeping area can be made up as one king-size bed – let your host know your preference before you arrive.

  • If you're travelling with a baby, your host can provide a cot for free on request.

  • Your host asks you to respect quiet hours between 11pm and 7am.

The Torre del Gallo, which sits on top of a ridge overlooking Florence, is a highlight – you get some beautiful panoramic views over the red rooftops of the...
