Perched high on a forested bluff on Whidbey Island's western shore, this house orients itself almost entirely around the view – Admiralty Inlet stretching wide, the Olympic Mountains beyond, and tall firs framing it all. The great room, with its vaulted ceilings and stone fireplace, pulls the scenery inside through floor-to-ceiling windows. Come evening, the hot tub on the deck faces the same horizon, while the fire pit sits right at the bluff's edge – the natural place to watch the sun drop behind the mountains. A trail winds down from the garden directly to the beach below. Also within easy driving distance are Langley's galleries, Coupeville's historic town, and South Whidbey State Park's trails.

At full capacity, two guests will sleep in the den – one on the day bed and another on the single trundle bed.
Air conditioning is only in the main living space.
The wood-burning fireplace in the living room is a real highlight, but firewood isn't provided – plan to pick some up locally before you arrive.
Cell reception is minimal here.
The driveway is a single-lane road – tight and narrow, and not suited to large vehicles, oversized trucks, or trailers.
Whidbey Island is home to a naval air base, so you may hear loud jet training on some weekdays and occasionally in the evenings. The Navy doesn't conduct training on weekends or public holidays and typically publishes its schedule a week ahead.
The lead guest must be at least 21 years old.
This multi-level home is not suitable for those with limited mobility due to the many steps inside and out. There are also steps down to the beach.
