Tucked into Rue Portefoin in the 3rd arrondissement, this Marais apartment earns its place on a short list with one rare detail – a private hot tub, an unlikely find at this address. Exposed brick and ancient stone walls give the living space real texture, while the vaulted marble bathroom adds a design note that feels considered without being showy. The Picasso Museum and Place des Vosges are steps away, Notre-Dame Cathedral is a nineteen-minute walk, and Sainte-Chapelle is twenty-minutes on foot – meaning Paris's greatest hits are largely walkable from your door.

Home truths
The three bedrooms and both bathrooms are located in the basement, while the living area and kitchen sit on the ground floor. You'll be moving between the two levels regularly during your stay.
The showers have had recurring drainage issues noted by multiple guests, with water backing up during normal use. It's worth keeping showers brief and flagging any problems to your host promptly.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are all in the basement and have no windows, so there's no natural light or ventilation in the sleeping areas. If you find enclosed spaces uncomfortable, that's worth factoring in.
If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot for children up to three years old. Request it in advance when you book.
As is common in France, the toilets are separate from the bathrooms.
Given the home's central spot, expect to hear some street noise throughout your stay.
At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.
