Vaulted ceilings and a gas fireplace make the main living space feel welcoming after a day outdoors – whether that's been on the slopes at Palisades Tahoe, a twenty-minute drive away, or at Commons Beach, 1.3 miles from the front door. The fenced backyard earns its keep in warmer months, with alfresco dining and a fire pit running on provided propane. Single-level and bathed in light, this Tahoe City house suits everyone from remote workers to families with dogs in tow, with Homewood Mountain Resort just twelve minutes away when the powder calls.

What to expect
Home truths
There's no air conditioning here – the home relies on central heating and a fan for temperature control. If you're visiting in summer, pack light layers for the evenings when it cools down at altitude.
You'll need a car to make the most of this home – the nearest ski resorts are between a twelve- and thirty-minute drive, and Commons Beach is 1.3 miles away. There's space for up to four cars on site: one in the garage and three in the driveway.
If you're visiting in winter, check road conditions before you travel – snow chains or a four-wheel-drive vehicle may be required to reach the home.
Note that charcoal grills are banned in the county – stick to the gas barbecue provided in the backyard.
The second bedroom is arranged with a single-over-double bunk bed.
If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair at no additional cost. You'll need to request them in advance.
