Tucked into a snowy Sierra Nevada forest near Tahoe City, this fairy-lit cabin pulls you into proper mountain-retreat mode the moment you walk in. Soaring timber ceilings and a fire pit on the snow-dusted deck make it easy to lose track of the day entirely – pine trees on all sides, everything quiet. When you're ready to venture out, three ski areas are within about twenty minutes, Homewood Mountain Resort's lake-view runs are around eighteen minutes away, and HOA access to a private Lake Tahoe beach sits just half a mile from the front door.

Home truths
Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay.
You'll find two parking spaces in the driveway in front of the home – straightforward if you're arriving in one or two standard-size vehicles.
If you're visiting between November and April, note that the deck furniture, gas grill, and fire pit are stowed away for the snow season, and you may need four-wheel drive or snow chains to reach the home.
The wood-burning fireplace and fire pit are great in the colder months, but neither comes with wood included – you'll need to source or purchase firewood locally before you arrive.
No fires are permitted in Lake Tahoe from April until the first snowfall of the year, and charcoal grills are strictly forbidden in the county.
