A classic A-frame set among tall pines near Lake Tahoe, this Homewood cabin earns its keep in winter and beyond. Come evening, the wood-burning fireplace draws everyone in from the cold, and the loft bedroom – tucked beneath soaring pitched ceilings – makes for a memorable place to sleep. A private deck with a barbecue handles warmer days, and the Tahoe Pines HOA beach and trails are just steps away. When you want more, Homewood Mountain Resort is 1.3 miles out, and Tahoe City's restaurants and shops are a five-minute drive.

Home truths
At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the loft area.
There's no air conditioning here, which is typical for the area. Tahoe's mountain elevation keeps things comfortable most of the time, but pack a fan if you're sensitive to warmth on hotter summer nights.
The fireplace is wood-burning and firewood isn't stocked, so you'll need to bring or buy it locally before settling in for the evening.
You'll need a car to make the most of the area, especially in winter when chains or 4-wheel drive may be required on mountain roads. On-site parking fits up to four vehicles – two in the garage and two on the driveway.
If you're travelling without a car, the Hwy 89 bus stop is just 0.2 miles away. A free bus connects to Tahoe City in around fifteen minutes and links to routes serving nearby ski resorts.
Note that charcoal grills are prohibited in this county – use the gas barbecue on the deck rather than bringing your own charcoal setup.
