Large windows bring plenty of natural light into the living room, while a cobblestone fireplace creates a cosy spot to gather after a day outdoors. The main bedroom features cathedral ceilings, exposed beams, and skylights, while a loft stocked with games and movies offers additional space for younger guests. Home truths
No pets are allowed at this home, so you'll need to make alternative arrangements for any four-legged companions.
For those with reduced mobility, there's a ground floor bedroom and bathroom here.
Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay. You'll have two parking spaces on the driveway, so there's no need to worry about street parking.
Winter road conditions can be challenging, so four-wheel drive or snow chains may be required between November and March.
The deck furniture and barbecue are only available between May and October – they're stored away from November through April due to snow. If you're visiting in winter, alfresco dining won't be an option.
If you're planning to barbecue, note that charcoal grills are strictly forbidden in the county – the deck barbecue uses a different fuel type, so check with your host before bringing your own equipment.

About Kings Beach
On the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is one of the largest bodies of water in the US. As you'd expect, it's an area of astounding beauty, but the lake has also made a name for itself as a centre for both winter sports and water sports, as well as hiking and cycling. The north shore is a bit quieter and more relaxed than the south. While there's still plenty to do (including the annual food and wine festival), you're unlikely to see crowds like you do in other parts of the region.
