Perched among the pines above Lake Tahoe, this house is built around the kind of evenings you come to the mountains for – the hot tub deck catching the last of the light as the sun drops over the treetops. Inside, vaulted ceilings and wide windows make the forest feel close, and the living room opens straight out onto the deck when the weather invites it. When you're ready to move, boating, paddleboarding, and the Flume Trail are all close at hand.

About Incline Village

On the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is one of the largest bodies of water in the US. As you'd expect, it's an area of astounding beauty, but the lake has also made a name for itself as a centre for both winter sports and water sports, as well as hiking and cycling. The north shore is a bit quieter and more relaxed than the south. While there's still plenty to do (including the annual food and wine festival), you're unlikely to see crowds like you do in other parts of the region.
